Is there a commission or service fee for tutors?

Yes, Turkish Mate utilizes a commission-based model, which functions as a service fee. This fee allows us to continuously operate and improve the platform, invest in marketing to bring you students, provide dedicated customer support, and facilitate secure payment processing.

Our Tiered Commission Structure

We believe in rewarding our tutors for their dedication and experience on the platform. Therefore, our commission rate decreases as you successfully complete more lessons with Turkish Mate students. The structure is as follows:

• Tier 1 (0-20 Completed Lessons): The commission rate is 25%. This applies to your first 20 lessons taught on the platform.
• Tier 2 (21-50 Completed Lessons): Once you complete your 21st lesson, the commission rate drops to 20% for lessons 21 through 50.
• Tier 3 (51-100 Completed Lessons): After completing 50 lessons, the commission rate further decreases to 15% for lessons 51 through 100.
• Tier 4 (101+ Completed Lessons): For all lessons completed after your 100th lesson, you benefit from our lowest commission rate of just 10%!

How the Commission Works

The commission percentage is calculated based on the lesson price that you set in your tutor profile. This calculated commission amount is automatically deducted before the earnings are added to your Turkish Mate account balance.

Example (Tier 2 - 20% Commission):

• You set your hourly rate at $20 USD.
• A student completes a 1-hour lesson.
• The commission is $4 USD (20% of $20).
• Your earning for that lesson added to your balance is $16 USD ($20 - $4).

Tracking Your Progress

You can easily track the number of lessons you have completed and see your current applicable commission rate within your Tutor Dashboard or Earnings section on the Turkish Mate platform.
